Question: How do you propose to break all the records that you list as your performance goals? Are your goals realistic?

For 300 mph, we use the Dagger GT-LS (Land-speed) model and we have 2 guys who have driven turbo-charged 2000 hp cars at 300 mph and they say we can do it. We have 2 superb aero firms with NASA experience and 340 mph diesel car experience and they say we can do it. We have a full belly-pan with twin Venturi tunnels and we use aerodynamic intake plugs for landspeed runs. Mathematically, we can do it with 21 sf of frontal area and a CD of 0.28 and 2000 hp. And we are going to add a little insurance by offering, as an option, Tom Nelson’s 2500 horsepower multi-fuel engine which should guarantee we set every record in the book. (If needed, we can ‘goose up’ the race fuel mix with more methanol to get more power.) Mendeola is building a 2000 hp-capable transaxle with a gearbox specifically designed to break 300 mph. We are putting the 2500 hp engine-option in our Prototype pure race car which will feature a roll cage, and drag chutes. We will use 300 and 500 mph-rated M/T land speed tires for our airport standing mile and dry lake landspeed runs. The current world record for the Standing Mile is 253 mph. We add 1000 pounds of front ballast for landspeed run safety, plus we reset the ride height to one inch. We have two electric aluminum radiators and 2 aluminum intercoolers plus a reservoir for 100 pounds of ice for landspeed work. (Weight has a negligible effect on top speed. It hurts accel. The Bugatti Veyron weighs 4500 pounds.) The 2500 hp engine is not recommended for the street as it is not as streetable due to the radical camshaft in this option. Another option: Buyers may also order the GT-LS without a windshield to reduce frontal area and beat TranStar’s records. We will help our buyers all we can. The modified GT-LS (no windshield) will come with a tonneau hard cover for the cockpit.

For a 200 mph quarter mile and 1.5 second 0-60: We use the 2500 hp Dagger GT-D (Drag racing) model and we reset the suspension spindle/hub and use equal length control arms for drag racing to emulate a solid axle and to keep the tires square/flat with maximum surface contact/no camber when they move up and down. We dump all extra weight. We add a drag wing. We use pro stock Goodyear drag slicks. (The wheel wells are specifically designed to allow for these big wheels.) We have similar traction mechanics and a weight-to-horsepower ratio far better than NHRA Pro Stockers which routinely run 6.7 seconds and 200+ mph in the quarter mile. The Nissan Project Zed car has run 1.2 seconds in the 0-60 mph with 1600 hp. We do not understand why folks do not believe we can get 1.5 seconds with 2500 horsepower, plus… We expect to set the 0-60-0 records as well with our big Brembo brakes.

Lap records at VIR and Nurburgring: We use the Dagger GT-R (Road racing) model and we add a dynamic, programmable, automated split rear wing and wide Pirellis for road racing, and we balance the heck out of the car. We strip out all excess weight and get under 3000 pounds. We use a road racing suspension with enhanced Brembo brakes. We use an engine management program/computer that automatically matches fuel mix/octane and boost to match the driver’s pedal pressure demands. We hope to set a new slalom record as well. The long straightaways on these tracks coupled with our record-setting top speed and our insane acceleration out of the turns should destroy these lap records for a long time to come. We will also ask for an opportunity to set lap records at Indianapolis, Talladega and Daytona just for fun.

“I hope this little write-up, will reinforce your belief in our mission and its success. Oh, I forgot the most important success factor: we will NEVER give up until we break every record! Break the rules and break the records. Join the rebellion! Bringing back the Unlimiteds! Nuff said”. – Craig Miller, Founder, TranStar Racing, LLC
