Inspired by Charles Stewart Rolls and the legend of the Schneider Trophy-winning Supermarine S6B (powered by a Rolls-Royce R Type engine), Rolls-Royce Motor Cars proudly presented the Phantom Coupé Aviator Collection at a private event in Carmel, California over the weekend which Privé had the pleasure of attending. The collection celebrates the spirit of human endeavour that drove a very British hero and subsequently led Rolls-Royce to simultaneous world speed records on land, air and in the water
The first in the collection of 35 Phantom Coupé Aviator Collection models – which feature a suite of exclusive design concepts, colour combinations and new materials – debuts today at the Pebble Beach Quail gathering in the United States.
Along with the Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe Aviator Collection model, Rolls Royce had a few other surprises rolled up their sleeves. The extended wheelbase Ghost along with bespoke customization was also unveiled at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance to demonstrate the sophistication and class that the Bespoke department at Rolls Royce can come up with. With contrasting two tone paint schemes, the Ghost revels in the magnificence of Carrara White over Mazarine Blue. This is offset by a Mandarin orange twin feature line and polished tread plates with Pebble Beach and the Orange Poppy welcomes you once you open the door.
The opulent individually ventilated rear seating comes with a massage feature and theater entertainment and the seats feature hand-monogrammed headrests in the same Orange Poppy theme. This is the first time Rolls Royce has introduced a sunroof in the extended wheelbase model and many other technological enhancements completely pamper the driver and passengers. Leather is the weapon of choice, and the natural grain leather, which comes optional, covers the seats, upper and lower instrument panel, instrument panel sides, door trim and center armrest and rear hat tray.
For 2013, Ghost is further enhanced with new features providing an even greater experience for both driver and passenger in comfort and technology. A perforated leather headliner is available with the standard Panorama Sunroof on Ghost Extended Wheelbase for the first time enhancing the light and airy feel of the cabin.
Natural Grain leather, the softest, most luxurious leather, previously only available on Phantom is available as an option on Ghost for the first time in 2013. When chosen, natural grain leather covers the seats, upper and lower instrument panel, instrument panel sides, door trim and center armrest and rear hat tray.
Night Vision with person recognition will pretension the brakes, alongside the audible and visual pedestrian warnings, in the event that sudden braking is required. Comfort Access now includes a Smart Boot Opener function. Approaching the rear of the car, a simple leg movement triggers the opening of the boot without the need to press any buttons.
2013 Ghost arrives in showrooms coinciding with the Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance weekend.
