Before Falcon 2000S is going to be officially launched into the market, which takes place probably in 2013, should go through the certification process by the end of 2012.

Ferraris led by a 625 TRC Spider (1 of only 2 ever produced) took the top three lots in a $41.8 million auction as the Italian maker continues to attract classic-car investors.

The Spider, raced in California during the 1950s, was one of 22 classic Ferraris offered by RM Auctions in Monaco in a two-day weekend event. It sold for 5 million euros ($6.5 million) including fees to a telephone buyer against multiple underbidders.

Ferrari SpA remains the top brand for both established collectors and wealthy individuals looking to diversify their investments. New buyers appreciate the security of a big carmaker that still exists, said dealers.

“Ferrari trumps all other names in terms of prestige and liquidity,” the Geneva-based auto adviser Simon Kidston said in an interview before the sale. “If you have a good car that’s priced correctly, you can find a buyer within hours.”

The 1957 V-12 had been purchased new in 1957 by the West Coast-based Ferrari dealer and racer John van Neumann. Restored in the 1980s, after losing its original engine, the car had been valued at 3 million euros to 3.7 million euros in an event timed to coincide with the biannual Grand Prix de Monaco Historique.

The auction, featuring 94 cars, raised 32.4 million euros, slightly below the 33 million euros achieved at the company’s inaugural event in 2010, RM said. The event had a sell-through rate of 87 percent by volume, said the Canadian-based company.

The new Learjet 70 and Learjet 75 aircraft build on legendary Learjet strengths and successes while leveraging Learjet 85 aircraft technology, The planes will replace the Learjet 40 and 45 models.

The jets will feature a new modern design interior, a next generation cabin management system, the Vision Flight Deck with a state-of-the-art avionics suite, superior aircraft performance and low operating costs. Entry-into-service is scheduled for the first half of 2013.

The two planes, which will be assembled in Wichita, will offer greater range, more speed, new interior styling, lighter weight, and, because they will have improved fuel efficiency, lower operating costs, said Ralph Acs, head of Bombardier’s Wichita Learjet plant.

Performance

The aircraft will have enhanced performance through an engine thrust increase with an improved Honeywell engine, offering improved takeoff field length performance over its predecessor. The new systems will also contribute to weight savings gain and the new canted winglets will improve aerodynamic efficiency. Overall, up to a nine per cent improvement in field performance under hot and high conditions and up to a four per cent improvement in fuel efficiency are expected.

The Learjet 70 and 75 will offer sportier performance than the Learjet 40XR and 45XR because they carry several hundred pounds less in avionics weight and are propelled by 700 lb. more thrust. The increased thrust will shorten takeoff field lengths to less than 4,500 ft. Runway performance long has been a sore point with Learjet 40-series operators. The -40AR engines used on Gulfstream G150 are rated at 4,420 lb. thrust to ISA+13C, thus the 3,850 lb. thrust -40BRs will have generous flat-rating margins for hot-and-high airport performance.

The new aircraft will climb directly to 45,000 and, once there, burn 4-5% less fuel than the aircraft they will replace because of the new winglets. (The -40BR engines have the same high altitude cruise thrust output and thrust specific fuel consumption as the -20BR turbofans on today’s Learjets).

Both aircraft will be able to carry at least 200 lb. more payload with maximum fuel and will be able to fly about 2,000 nm at long range cruise.

Cabin

Based on the Learjet 85 aircraft interior design and technology, the Learjet 70 and Learjet 75 aircraft include: improved comfort and styling of the seats; cabin management system featuring individual touchscreen monitors with full audio and video control; LED lighting throughout the entire aircraft; a generous baggage suite and a spacious galley for optimized catering, work and storage space.

The advanced connectivity options of the Learjet 70 and Learjet 75 aircraft will ensure the highest levels of convenience.

Vision Flight Deck

A breakthrough in business aviation, the Vision Flight Deck is designed to deliver a completely new cockpit experience. Operating Costs

In addition, direct operating costs will be reduced as a result of performance efficiency gains.

Learjet 70 aircraft: The Learjet 70 aircraft will be able to achieve an exceptional range greater than 2,000 nautical miles at a cruise speed of Mach 0.75. It will connect Chicago-Sao Paulo and Toluca-Minneapolis non-stop(ii) with six passengers and two crew members.

Learjet 75 aircraft: With a maximum range greater than 2,000 nautical miles at cruise speeds up to Mach 0.75, the Learjet 75 aircraft will be able to fly four passengers and two crew members non-stop from Los Angeles to Toronto and Mumbai to Bangkok. Additionally, it will be able to handle a range close to 1,950 nautical miles with eight passengers.

There is also a small swimming pool on the foredeck of the Phantom as well as a bar and galley for food and beverage preparation. The deck has plenty of shade, and below decks there is an air-conditioned lounge when guests require a respite from the sun. Staff for the mother ship such as beauticians, valets and security can be accommodated on the supporting vessel, allowing the owner to devote even more space on the main craft to his needs.

Finally, the Phantom can be built to operate as an occasional helicopter landing pad, perfect for owners who do not want to devote deck space on the mother ship for a helipad.

Her exterior and interior styling are the work of Vripack, who is also responsible for her engineering. RIM is expected to unveil the first generation of BlackBerry 10 devices around October featuring a mobile platform designed for touch first. The new OS features an adaptive software keyboard that adjusts to your typing style. BlackBerry 10 also has an interesting camera feature that captures a few frames right before and after you press the shutter button allowing you to edit your photos on the fly with better facial expressions, lighting quality and other issues. RIM says it will highlight other features of the new OS closer to the BlackBerry 10 launch.

With a 92kW battery powering the electric motors at each wheel, the Rimac is said to be capable of rocketing to 62 from a standstill in just 2.8 seconds while traveling as far as 372 miles on a single charge. The team of former Pininfarina designers penned an attractive shape to go with it, the Bulgarian leathercrafters extraordinaires at Vilner were brought in to craft the interior, HRE developed a unique set of monoblock alloys and Vredestein debuted its new Ultrac Vorti tires designed by Giugiaro all for the Concept_One.

Impressive specs, all, but what’s most impressive is that the Concept_One is no mere concept – you can actually buy it, assuming you’ve got the scratch. Upon showcasing the electric supercar at Top Marques in Monaco, Rimac announced a limited run of 88 examples will be built, each fetching $980,000USD – a price as princely as the regent who was on hand to check it out in Monte Carlo. Which only goes to prove that you can, indeed, have your cake and eat it too, but it’ll cost you dearly.

The GLOBAL 7000 will feature a four-zone living space and can accommodate up to 10 passengers. It will travel 7,300 nautical miles at Mach 0.85 and has a Mach 0.90 high-speed cruise capability.

The GLOBAL 8000 will carry up to 8 passengers and will also have a Mach 0.90 high-speed cruise capability. At its long-range cruise speed of Mach 0.85, however, this jet will travel an astonishing 7,900 nautical miles.
