The elegant car, complete with porcelain fittings, has taken the spotlight in the supercar realm. The ‘white gold’ car was produced to mark the start of a partnership between the Konigliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin (KPM) and Bugatti. It is the first car to use the porcelain which is more commonly used to build lavatories on the interior and exterior of a motor vehicle.

‘At first, this seemed to be an original idea of using porcelain in a car, especially in one of the fastest cars in the world,’ said Dr Stefan Brungs, director of sales and marketing for Bugatti. “But that’s what Bugatti is synonymous with: the creation of exceptional ideas while striving to meet the quality and aesthetics. ‘This allows us to continue to transfer and continue to us the skills of Ettore Bugatti, who, himself, liked to experiment with new materials.”

Jorg Woltmann, owner of the KPM, said that the idea for the partnership was inspired by Rembrandt Bugatti, the Italian sculptor who dead in January 1916 and was known sculptures of wildlife subjects.

Mr Woltmann added: “The impetus for this partnership comes from the elephants created by the renowned Rembrandt Bugatti. “At first we wanted to integrate the sculpture of the elephant in our product, then we thought about the possibility of a full service and finally a synthesis of ideas led us to this exceptional Grand Sport. “Now, we have created the fastest porcelain in the world.”

Bijan’s signature yellow dominates everything on this custom Veyron, from the broad stripe running up the centre of the polished aluminum bodywork to the wheels and interior. As you can see, Bijan’s trademark bearded face motif is featured prominently on the nose, and Bijan logos are even featured on both sides of the rear wing. There’s even an iPad installed in between the seats that displays the same flower as those rotated daily in his Rodeo Drive boutique.

Reportedly, the car can go from 0 – 62 mph in 2.7 seconds, 0 – 124 mph in just 6.6 seconds, and has a top speed said to be over 248 mph! Which would beat out the Bugatti Veyron. The twin-blown eight is mated to an in-house-developed 6-speed sequential gearbox. Power is directed to an intelligent AWD system (also developed in-house) that can send a maximum of 36% of power to the front wheels.

For around $1.5 million, you get a 900-horsepower / 774 lb-ft twin-supercharged V8 engine and a set of 12-piston, 15-inch ceramic brakes.
